Injury Prevention

Injury Prevention

STAR assists in reducing the burden of workplace injuries by helping with the legwork.

At STAR, we understand the importance of Injury Prevention in the workplace. We work with individuals and organisations to educate and develop strategies and solutions that minimise the risk of injury, creating safe and healthy work environments.

Our approach is tailored to the specific needs of each workplace, taking into account the unique challenges and requirements of your industry. Our Consultants are knowledgeable in a range of injury prevention strategies and will work with you to implement these solutions and provide ongoing support and training to ensure their effectiveness.

Duty Register / Suitable Duties Register

A Duty Register or Suitable Duties Register provides a detailed breakdown of job tasks and their physical demands.

STAR Consultants analyse the physical and psychological demands of duties available by the employer, and identify alternatives and strategies to make the role safe.

This process helps identify return to work options for injured workers, and enables progression of duties towards a sustainable return to work.

Risk Assessment

Through a Risk Assessment, STAR consultants can evaluate and address the risk factors that could lead to accidents, injuries, or illnesses in the workplace.

By conducting thorough Risk Assessments, potential hazards can be identified, and the necessary steps taken to reduce or eliminate them. This could include providing impartial independent information on a reported hazardous task, implementing safety protocols, providing appropriate equipment and training, and modifying the work environment as needed.

A Risk Assessment can be completed in conjunction with a Job Task Analysis or as a stand-alone assessment of a specific duty or task.

Ergonomic Assessments

Through an Ergonomic Assessment, STAR Consultants can assess a worker’s physiology and injury history, as well as the specific tasks they are completing, to provide evidence-based advice on the best way to set up their workspace to avoid preventable repetitive injuries.

STAR Consultants can educate workers and employers on the most up-to-date strategies for maintaining safe and comfortable practices when working in an office space.
