Vocational Assessments and Transferrable Skills Assessments involve the analysis of an injured worker’s current skills and experience to assist in identifying their vocational potential for redeployment with a Rehabilitation Psychologist or Rehabilitation Counsellor.
This process involves a variety of assessment considerations including:
STAR can assist injured workers with finding a ‘host employer’ for either work hardening or redeployment/retraining.
Host employment or work trials are short-term placements that allow an injured worker to safely and gradually progress their functional capacity, under medical supervision, at an alternate place of employment. This arrangement works well for workers whose physical or psychological injuries prevent them from returning to their previous place of employment.
Alternatively, some workers may require a permanent new role. In this situation, the STAR Career Transition Team will reach out to their extensive network of employer partners to support the worker in successfully securing new permanent employment.
Your STAR Career Transition Specialist will work with you one-on-one to identify the best programs for your development.
